Our Ministry
Among their activities the Rural Parish Workers:Assist with the basic needs of food, clothing, utilities and housing. Conduct religious, educational, cultural, recreational and social events at St. Michael House. Assist with transportation to Church, health providers and community activities. Visit and bring Eucharist to the homebound. Obtain medical, dental and legal aid for those in need. Provide furniture and household items in emergencies. Facilitate developmental work programs. Participate in civic and religious programs. Encourage people on a spiritual level by affirming their dignity and potential. Invite each person to contribute their time and talent through neighbor-to-neighbor programs.
In essence what makes The Rural Parish Workers of Christ the King different from other agencies is their ability to offer a spiritual component in all that it does. As stated by one of the Members "Others can't talk about God or spiritual issues, but we are able to do that with the people." "We are able to give them a sense of hope through prayer and learning a little bit more about God."

The Rural Parish Workers carry out much of their ministry at St. Michael House, an activity center that was established in 1966. St. Michael House is used for various community and ministry-related activities, including rummage sales, St. Michael Day socials, days of recollection, Christmas and for those served through the ministry, Vacation Bible School and social events, Annual Fete de L'Automne for the Old Mines Area Historical Society.
